1.    How do I register as a Jobseeker on OnePlace?

To register on the OnePlace site, click on the Register / Sign In button on the Jobseekers Homepage. Then follow the onscreen instructions to register. An e-mail confirmation will be sent to you once you have successfully registered.

 

2.    How do I upload my CV?

To upload your CV, you need to be registered as a jobseeker (see Question 1 above). If you are already registered as a jobseeker, login and click on ‘Update My Documents and Employment Details’. Scroll down to ‘Upload CV’, click on ‘Browse’ and locate where your CV is saved. Then click open, enter your CV name and click on ‘Upload Document’. Add more documents if desired, then click on ‘Continue’ on the bottom of the page.

 

3.    How do I edit my CV?

To edit your CV, log in to your ‘My OnePlace’ account and click on ‘Update My Documents and Employment Details’. Scroll down to ‘Previously Uploaded CVs’, and click ‘Delete’ next to the CV you wish to update. Then simply upload your new CV (see Question 2 above).

 

4.    How do I apply for a vacancy?

To apply for a vacancy, you need to be registered as a jobseeker (see Question 1 above). If you are already registered as a jobseeker, click on ‘View Details’ in the search results page, then click on ‘Apply Now’. This will take you to a page where you can choose which CV, Covering Letter and other documents you would like to attach to the application. If you do not have a CV uploaded into you’re my OnePlace account, click on ‘Upload Documents’. Otherwise, select your CV and other documents (if desired), and click on ‘Apply Now’.

You can also apply for positions from your Basket. Once in your basket, select the check boxes of the position/s you wish to apply for, click ‘Apply Now’ and follow the guidelines mentioned above.

 

5.    How do I find out more information about a vacancy?

To find out more information about a vacancy, you can apply for the position (see Question 5 above). The recruiter or employer will then make contact with you, at which point you can query further details of the position.

 

6.    How do I receive Jobs-by-Email?

To receive Jobs-by-Email, login to your Jobseeker account and click on the 'Jobs-by-Email' link. Here you can enter in your preferences for Jobs-by-Email. Return to this page at a later date if you want to update your preferences and settings.

 

7.    How can I change the Jobs-by-Email I receive?

To change the types or frequency of jobs you receive by e-mail, login to your Jobseeker account and click on the 'Jobs-by-Email' link. Here you can change your preferences and settings for Jobs-by-Email.

 


8.    How can I change my login details and personal details?

To change your login and personal details, login to you’re ‘My OnePlace Homepage’ and click on ‘Update My Personal Details’. Here you can update your login and other details. When you are finished, click on ‘Continue’. Your details have now been updated.

 

9.    How can I check on the progress of my applications?

Login to your homepage and click on 'View Applications'. Here you can view each of your applications, including the status (applied, shortlisted, request interview, interviewed, offer accepted, rejected).

 

10.    What are cookies?

OnePlace uses "cookies" to help personalise and maximise your online experience and time online. Cookies are not used to run programmes or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you and your computer and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.

One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the web server that you have returned to a specific page. When you return to the OnePlace site, cookies enable us to retrieve the information you previously provided, so you can easily use the features that you customised.

You may have the ability to accept or decline cookies at any time. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline all cookies if you prefer. Alternatively, you may be able to modify your browser setting to notify you each time a cookie is tendered and permit you to accept or decline cookies on an individual basis. If you choose to decline cookies, however, that may hinder performance and negatively impact your experience on the web site.

 

11.    What types of accommodation can I post on OnePlace?

With your Jobseekers login, you can post accommodation to rent and accommodation to share on the OnePlace site. You can post up to a maximum of three listings. You can also choose to have these properties showing from your Public Profile. If you wish to add different types of property or accommodation, or if you wish to place more than three listings, please register on the Estate Agents/Landlord section.

 


12.    I'm unable to log in to my OnePlace account

If you are having difficulty logging into your account, please check that you are entering in the correct username and/or password. If you have forgotten your password, enter your username into the sign-in bar and click on the red arrow. You will then be taken to a screen where you can hit the 'Forgotten Password' button. Your password will be then e-mailed to your registered email address.

 

13.    How can I contact the recruiter about my application?

To streamline the process for the employer or recruiter, OnePlace provide an online application facility for candidates to apply for vacancies posted on the website. In most cases, if you have not received a response from the employer or recruiter within four weeks of applying for the position, you may assume that your application has not been successful.

 

14.    Why haven't I had a response to my application?

In most cases, if you have not received a response from the employer or recruiter within four weeks of applying for the position, you may assume that your application has not been successful.

 

15.    Can I send my application to you?

OnePlace is solely an online environment for employers and recruiters to post vacancies, and for job seekers to search and apply for these vacancies directly to the posters. As such, OnePlace cannot receive job applications directly.

 

16.    How can I obtain a work permit?

Anyone wishing to work in the E.U who is not a resident of a country within it will need a work permit. You can either arrange this yourself or in some cases an employer may arrange it for you, but this is up to them. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide advice on visa issues or arrange for any work permits. 17.    Can foreign nationals apply for jobs in the UK via OnePlace?

Yes, foreign nationals can apply for jobs advertised on OnePlace. You must, however, be legally eligible to work in the country a specific job is based in.

 

18.    How can I stop my current employer from seeing my Jobseeker Profile?

You can choose for your Public Profile to be visible online to recruiters and employers, or to be hidden completely. To change this setting, you need to be logged in as a Jobseeker. From your ‘My OnePlace Homepage’, click ‘Update My Public Profile’. Scroll down to ‘Show my online profile’, and check or uncheck this box depending on whether you wish for your online profile to be visible (If the box is checked, all logged-in employers and recruiters will be able to view your online profile in full.

 

19.    I just want to apply online, do I have to fill in the Jobseeker Profile?

No. To apply online, you do need to be registered as a Jobseeker, however you do not need to have completed your Jobseeker Profile.

 

20.    How do recruiters use my Jobseeker Profile?

Recruiters and employers will use a variety of search and selection techniques available to them to search jobseeker’s Public Profiles. They are unable to view your contact details until they request them from OnePlace. If the recruiter wishes, they will then contact you directly via e-mail, post or phone.

 

21.    How do I stop receiving emails from OnePlace?

As a registered user of OnePlace, we may send you important information from time to time regarding your registration, or querying your account status (we will not send you third party marketing material of any kind). We will only send you e-mails which we deem to be necessary as part of your registration. If you do not wish to receive any e-mails (e.g. you are no longer seeking employment), you can unsubscribe from OnePlace (see Question 11 above). If you are not currently seeking employment, we suggest you keep your OnePlace account for future use, as it is transferable with other features of the site, and more which are coming soon.

 

22.    How do I change my ‘Jobs by email’ address?

Your ‘Jobs by email’ address is the same as your personal details email address. See Question 8 above.
